1. Theme Builder and Objective Summary
- Pick a short story, song, or film you know well and write its topic in two or three words.
- List the main character's goal, the biggest obstacle, how the character changes, and how the story ends, one line each.
- Turn those four lines into one theme statement written as a complete sentence about people or life, not about the character by name.
- Write an objective summary of 4–6 sentences that covers the beginning, middle, and end, then underline any word that sounds like an opinion and replace it with a neutral word.
